CASA volunteers undergo an initial training course conducted by the CASA of Natrona County staff.  The introductory training requires completion of a 30 hour course.  There are 10 training segments, each of which are scheduled to take 3 hours.  The training is held during evenings, generally on Monday and Wednesdays and one Saturday.  During the Saturday training, two segments are completed.  Volunteers are asked to commit to 18 months of service.

In-Service Training is also provided.  Volunteers learn about courtroom procedure from the principals in the system -- from judges, lawyers, social workers, court personnel, and others.  CASA volunteers also learn affective advocacy techniques for children, and are educated about specific topics ranging from seminars on child sexual abuse to discussions on early childhood development and adolescent behavior.
